The friendship question: I walked away from two 20+ year “friendships” a couple of years ago. Once I quit drinking and started using cannabis they started to exclude me from gatherings. The final straw was when they took a trip to another state to celebrate their 50th birthdays. A trip we had talked about taking together. I realized that we simply don’t enjoy each others company and have nothing in common. So I unfriended them on social media and stopped texting. They never once reached out. 🤷♀️ so I know I made the right decision
I now categorize people in my life. "Friendships" are a very small group of people in my life. The rest are acquaintances and I'm not mad at them, they just are not at my immediate table. It is not my responsibility to heal anyone. At this point in my life, if they don't want to heal themselves, in whatever form they need, I will walk away.
I agree with the friendship comments. When I became sick and unable to work, “friends” dropped the shit out of me. I definitely realized they weren’t friends. I kept the ball rolling before and after the sickness- it was kinda fked up
Needed the "friendship" talk...
Friendship over? it happened and the lesson stuck when at 18 my mother said I’d become a caretaker to my ‘friend’ ? I stopped, being a caretaker and I lost that ‘friend’ it was a life lesson I’m forever grateful for at 54!
You rock Mel! You are the real deal. Thank you for being YOU! ❤️
After 40 it’s a mid life awakening!!
A lot of surprises after 40’s
The point of meditation isn’t to leave you stuck in your thoughts. It’s a practice watching your thoughts, which creates a distance between you and your thoughts. It’s in fact about sitting beside all of your emotions. In doing so, you learn you are not your thoughts, not your emotions. You are the observer. Watching these things come and go. ❤❤❤
A life long friend shared this with me. I'm grateful for him and for your Podcast. Thank you🙌😁
