(Typical ad money spent in that district is less than a few hundred thousand.) 97% of Gallrein's campaign contributions came from outside the state, from literal billionaires. - They had to roll out Hegseth, the entire admin including Trump posting non stop. - A full court press from every paid off political mercenary that exists in this country on the right wing. Community Notes were working overtime: often times there'd be one within 15 minutes of a post going up just correcting the record against everybody. - A fake sex scandle 5 days before the election. - Massie wasn't allowed on Fox for 18 months. Lastly, Massie was favored by folks 55 and under. Heavily favored by folks 26 to 45. However, typically, young voters don't show up for primary elections. The boomers do. And the boomers are full throat MAGA. This was obvious as only a third of the registered GOP voters in that district even voted. So, Trump and Gallrein were, in a sense, very lucky that two-thirds of the registered voters didn't bother showing up at the polls because it could have easily tipped the scales.

It's not so much that Dave Smith owned Michael Knowles. Knowles is fully owned by Shapiro.
