In the book they were in this situation several times and each time it was torture, the only way to escape was death.
That humanizing moment of the soldier staring at him after the canteen swap was so good. He wants to see this kid push through it and you can see it on his face.
Some of these comments complaining about a movie they clearly haven't seen lmao
Deaths from the hill 1. Angel Price #44 0:36 2. Walker Number #18 0:40 (off screen) 3. Larson #14 0:48 4. Marty Wyman #43 0:49 5. Omar Green #10 0:58 6. Pearson #8 0:58 7. Henlee Chavez #21 0:59 8. Chris Turner #40 1:01 9. Dave Barnes #41 1:07 10. Sebastian Rodriguez #13 1:15 11. Bobby Sledge #11 1:15 12. Walker Number #30 1:50 (offscreen) 13. M. Evens #32 2:05 (offscreen) 14. T. Jenson #33 2:07 (offscreen)
only visually jarring part is that the soldier seems like they're barely walking next to the MCs who look more realistic trying to go up a hill at pace
What makes this moment so powerful is that the whole thing is a competition for last man standing to win (he who finishes the walk) They all have an incentive to see the others die or fall behind But instead Jensen helps this guy as he is crashing out and helps him...
This was the most powerful movie I've seen in YEARS!!!!
Is it ever explained what happened to the US (or the world) that preceeded this universe?
So nice of the guy yelling at him to politely hush down when the other guy came to give a pep talk
