Collie singing in his native language was so heartbreaking.
Once you realize this book was written about King's thoughts on Vietnam it makes a lot of sense. Young men signing up for death "for their country" but ultimately a pointless loss of life etc.
The scene with his mother broke me. Judy Greer made the most of her short time in the movie
In the end, they listened to each other. Raymond chose love and Pete chose the carbine
I can't remember the character's name, but "nosebleed guy's" death broke me. That moment when he decided he was going to die, but his mood suddenly got bright when he realized it was all going to be over soon and he had made some friends, felt like a knife in the gut. Gods, what an actor!
I think David Jonsson's (Pete) name should be included when discussing nominations during the awards season. His performance stood out among the other great performances in this movie. The movie was a better adaptation than I expected.
Obviously written during the peak of the Vietnam War, with the treatment of young men and "the televised draft, the horror of seeing new friends die, the seeming lack of reason for it occurring in the first place" (James Smythe of The Guardian newspaper)
Stebbin’s looking back was his realization that you can’t do The Walk alone. It’s subtle development, but after he looked back he picked up his pace to walk closer to Ray and Pete 😭
Thumbnail just showing all 3 of you absolutely bawling 😭😭😂😂💔💔
