Chili's: Offers low-price specials while the rest of the industry gets more and more expensive Customers: Flock to Chili's Everyone else: Shocked Pikachu face
“Hi, welcome to chili’s” probably has something to do with it
chili's saved gen z - the prices on everything else is CRAZY these days. god bless my baby back baby back baby back :3
Hipster foodie places are dying because they decided to charge 20 dollars for a cheeseburger from a food truck.
I think a big thing to consider as well is that Chili's isn't owned by a private equity firm. Red lobster was killed by private equity selling their real estate and leasing those same buildings back to them.
For me, it really comes down to the value you get. For a family retirement party, my family went out to eat at a fancy “gourmet” local steak house where the cheapest cut on the menu was $50 and it didn’t even taste that great. Why go there and be unsatisfied and broke when I can go to chilis, get a 3 for me and (like Trevor said) get chips and salsa, a bunch of quesadillas and a margarita for $15! More food, better taste, cheaper prices than a lot of these fancy places in my area, so yeah chilis for the win here.
It surprises me every time how well spoken and articulate Trevor is. I expect him to be just a silly guy. It shouldn’t surprise me anymore at this point honestly, but it’s always great to hear Trevor’s takes on things.
Hi Josh and Trevor, I'm a Zoomer and my friends and I kinda discovered going to casual restaurants was so much fun after quarantine lightened up. Most of us work in or have worked in restaurants before and our favorite restaurant that we always return to is Actually Denny's. That $8 burger after a bar crawl or bender is just magical! Drinking hot cocoa and eating pancakes outdoors at midnight when restaurants started opening up again is the MOST nostalgic memories I have with my friends!!
The people's princess, Trevor! I've never had Chili's but their commercial's song lives rent-free in my head.
