If the incubation period is up to 8 weeks how do they know that guy wasn't sick before he boarded?

The thing that he fails to mention is that the outbreak in Argentina occurred within a small rural town of 2000 people so there is geographic isolation. The fact that these people that carried the virus, were placed into close quarters with other people on a cruise ship and then dispersed around the world is problematic

If the couple contracted the virus in Argentina, while birdwatching, then boarded the ship, it doesn’t make sense if there is a six week incubation period they would have been sick so fast and also infect others. And those thing is multiple people are saying that passengers are going or being sent to different countries for treatment are our simply going home without having been quarantine for the six weeks. Keep everyone in one place. Some passengers are now in the US, some are in Switzerland, some are in Johannesburg, that is crazy.

Hantaviruses were first discovered following the Korean War. During the war, HFRS was a common ailment in soldiers stationed near the Hantan river. In 1978 in South Korea, the first hantavirus was isolated, Hantaan virus, and was shown to be responsible for the outbreak during the war. Within a few years, other hantaviruses that cause HFRS were discovered throughout Eurasia. In 1982, the World Health Organization gave HFRS its name, and in 1987, hantaviruses were classified for the first time. They collectively bear the name of Hantaan virus and the Hantan river. In 1993, an outbreak of HPS occurred in the Four Corners region in the United States, which led to the discovery of pathogenic New World hantaviruses and the second disease caused by hantaviruses. Since then, hantaviruses have been found not just in rodents but also moles, shrews, and bats.
