Description

Oh, also the series is over. RIP. No but seriously, this finale was the cherry on top of the surprisingly good sundae that was this show. I thought this series would be a vehicle to infodump about the X-Men. And, while I did do a lot of that, I found myself getting fully invested in these silly High School AU antics. This series was not only a good representation of the X-Men, but genuinely well-crafted and exceedingly clever. The characters were so fun to watch, many even better than their comic-selves (others were Storm). It's no wonder it had such an impact on the stories the books would tell after it wrapped. As far as the finale goes, much like the rest of this season, it seems cater made for me. My most absurd wishes came true because this show is my exact kind of silly (...maybe because it was a formative impact on me but we'll unpack that later). I can't express how happy I am to have gotten to share this experience with all of you. When I started I didn't know if reaction content was going to work for me. My usual stuff is so scripted and edited, I really doubted if I'd be funny enough off-the-cuff to carry a whole series to fruition. Honestly, I thought I might phase it out after a few eps like a lot of my other series lol. But, y'all really responded to it in a way I never would have expected. For the last few months, the best part of my week has been getting to chat about these eps with y'all in the comments and discord. I can't thank you enough. That said, this isn't a eulogy. The channel lives on. i have a lot of fun ideas for what to react to next ( in addition to our new two shows) and if you enjoyed this, I hope you consider sticking around! Robbed of the Phoenix, robbed of Laura, Colossus, and Gambit joining the team, Robbed of Magneto being a teach, robbed of Rahne coming back and Dani officially joining, robbed of Nimrod, robbed of Rogue seemingly having acquired her flying brick powers... This show left me **dying** for more back in the day, and now here I am, a proper X-Men fan of many years.

I have been waiting three months to see you react to those 11 seconds of animation at 26:24. (edited to remove spoiler) Worth it.

We really need the ‘97 treatment for Evolution. Hell, they already have an obvious title: REvolution.

Honestly, for not getting more seasons, that's a pretty damn good ending. Bittersweet, assures us that great triumphs and tragedies shall continue, and that through it all, this family will hold strong to make the world better. Though we won't see more than these brief glimpses, their stories continue, and the X-Men endure.

One important thing about Xmen being made teenagers, specially for a public at the time that was children, is that the Mutant metaphor can be brought closer to something kids can understand. Because even if many kids will not understand some of the more complex themes, kids 100% understand the concept of being bullied and put down because you are seen as different than the norm. A lot of prejudice starts at school.

The endless dedication to keeping Paul in the loop in this series has been my favorite bit

Still my favorite horsemen lineup. Not just because they’re powerful but it’s literally the teachers and mentors versus the students they trained.

I like to think at 19:10, when Kurt bamf'd in, Apocalypse just went "JESUS CHRIST!!" and just punched him out of a knee jerk reaction
