I would never call anyone a traitor for leaving the US, even thirty years ago. The world is a BIG wonderous place, too big to ignore. Life is to be experienced.
I moved to Santa Marta Colombia in January 2022. Livung better financially, physically, and mentally, was best move for me.
Yeah in America you cannot agree to disagree, I hate the radical views people are taking, I am a centrist.
Well said, Andrew. The collective west had its days, those were great, but those days are gone.
Re: the "city" vibe. I started out living in the suburbs and I was pretty happy, had my car in the garage so I didn't have to scrape the windows when I drove to Safeway. Then as part of my downsizing to move to a nicer climate I moved into a mixed-use apartment where I could walk across the street to groceries, vision care, restaurants, a drug store and a gas station and that was eye-opening for me. I loved the convenience. I no longer want to live in the suburbs, I want to live in a neighbourhood where I can just walk to everything I need. Preferably in a place where I am statistically unlikely to get stabbed.
"If Warren Buffett paid into Social Security, he should get it." 100% agree!
Would love to move from the US. I don’t feel at home here anymore.
People say “go where you’re treated best” and as a Black American I have no idea where that is. I’m not being sarcastic or funny or looking for sympathy, I am truly trying to figure out where my family and I could go and just be.
This the type of life I want to live. Have the freedom to move about anywhere in the world when I desire to. Great content
I'm not going to be one of your clients, but I agree with so much about what you say which is a reason I left years ago.
