New Zealand is one of the few high tax countries that have enough natural beauty, great climates, and uncrowded enough to be worth it.
This is definitely made by someone that hasnt lived in Ireland. Theres an immigration problem, housing crisis and an extremely high cost of living! 🙄
Point with nz is its away from everything in case of a nuclear war. Ireland is in the nuclear winter belt
Ireland has a lot of problems…and I’m not just talking about the weather here. If you’re considering moving here, I strongly advise you to think twice and double — even triple — check everything before making a decision. Ireland is far from affordable. It’s an island, after all, so things are generally more expensive than on mainland Europe. Depending on which Western country you’re from, you may not find many of the brands you’re used to. Most people I know do their shopping while on holiday because there are simply more options and better variety abroad — and I think that says a lot. Groceries are getting increasingly expensive. If you’re feeding more than one person, be prepared. Dining out with friends is even more costly, so if you have kids, you might have to cut back on nights out. I don’t feel safe walking around the city centre by myself, especially at night. Drug issues and homelessness are widespread. The housing crisis is ongoing, with no clear end in sight. Public transport is outdated — and good luck if you need to make a transfer. If you have children and are wondering whether Ireland is a good place to raise them… let me put it this way: if you want your kids to start smoking, vaping (or worse — doing drugs), and acting like their neighbour country’s rappers (a.k.a. UK rappers), this might be the place. Based on my own observation of local youth, there’s a lot of antisocial behaviour. The “friendly Irish” stereotype is true — but mostly if you’re just a tourist. Once you actually live here, you’ll notice the cliquey, gossip-heavy culture. Sure, gossip exists everywhere, but as someone who’s lived in five different countries, I’ve never seen it to this extent. So, if you’re doing well in life and planning a move to Ireland, keep the good news to yourself. Trust me on that.
You can also just jump on a boat and go to Ireland illegally and you’ll get in. I’m Irish and living in Ireland and we are having a major issue with illegal immigration at the moment.
I'm certainly not caring which country rich people are picking. Which countries are treating all of their people well? The broadest well-being is an important measure. The Happiness index and the Peace index are two good places to start.
Thanks
