The biggest and probably only significant benefit to New Zealand is that it's stunning. Every time I begin resenting the huge cost of living and geographic isolation I poke my head out the door, go for a drive and realise it's all worth it.
“They speak English” That’s debatable 😂
How about a series of interviews with past clients that are living where they are treated best? Yes, I understand many clients may not want to be interviewed but maybe some would like to spread the word.
Ireland is in a state of unrest and reaching a boiling point. But I suppose a few million gets a house in the hills
Doesn't matter how much tax breaks you get in Ireland you cant change the weather ,the weather is so bad the populace is constantly depressed and suffer from Vitamin D deficiency
I will share a lower-cost option for extended stays in NZ. I'm retired, so employment isn't a consideration. Instead of getting a 90-day Transit visa, I called NZ's immigration department and asked about other options. For no upfront cost, I obtained a multi-year 6-month extended stay visa; all I needed to do was prove that I had the financial resources to support myself during my stay. This visa entitles me to set up a local bank account, and ANZ Bank's Go account is perfect for this program. As for costs, because I'm using US credit cards, everything I purchase is paid for in US dollars, which is 40% less. NZ doesn't take AMEX, instead I use my Visa card, which entitles me to cash-back for all my purchases. If you need to rent a car, set up an AVIS/Budget account and link it to your Amazon account. This will get 10% back on your rentals.
the worst curse: "May you live in interesting times"
Costa Rica has become the new route to smuggle drugs to the north with an increase in crime there as a result. Having been there I can say that as soon a a Costa Rican sees you're from the US or Canada, the $$ signs flash in their eyes. Example: 5 years ago a personal pan pizza was $33 a person. They charge outrageous prices for foreigners. Whereas if you move to a less desirable area where fewer tourists go, all of a sudden things get ridiculously cheap. So if you want that really nice standard of living there, as in the San Jose area, you're going to have to pay for it. Most places are also incredibly hot, humid and rainy except for where the mountains are, so if you have trouble taking the heat, this may not be a the place for you.
Oman has seen fewer strikes compared to countries like the UAE or Saudi Arabia, but it has still suffered direct hits, casualties, and economic disruptions (e.g., to ports and oil handling). The situation remains fluid in this escalating regional conflict.
