@4:07 This is kinda true. Starbucks doesn't see itself as a cafe anymore. I've worked at one for 4 years and the corporation expects you to be inviting and chat up customers and yet keep them moving at the same time. A year or two ago they recently changed their drive thru window times, previously from about 45 seconds down to 20 seconds. I imagine this used to be different before drive thru was adopted, but now it's become apparent that these current decisions are clearly designed to increase profit. Not hard to read between the lines. They really changed the in-store environment into just another fast food restaurant in disguise of a cafe. And yes, they burn their espresso beans so they can upcharge you for flavors.

the whole vibe of these tier lists is cool, the editing style is so retro, and the content is just something you'd do with your friends randomly for shits and giggles

as a former barista, what matt is probably actually making when he talks about his 'lattes' at 8:23 is probably just a cortado. matt - if you see this, try ordering some cortados from coffee shops and see if they're more your speed!
