That girls paper is absolutely awful. No sources cited, terrible grammar, I and Me statements everywhere, didn't follow the instructions of the assignment, and it was barely 650 words. It's like a middle schooler wrote it but she's actually a junior in college! I refuse to believe her paper was anything else but bait. Then you look at her mother who is a lawyer that defended J6ers, is part of Mom's for Liberty, and graduate of Trump University.
Not doing your assignment right and getting graded accordingly is not a violation of free speech, it’s quite literally how school works.
A college student not understanding the fundamentals of freedom of speech and a professor being suspended over it -- this timeline is so borked.
Freedom of speech is freedom of speech. She spoke. That doesn't mean freedom of speech auto grants you a high grade
A teacher giving a shit paper a zero isn’t threatening free speech. That’s not how that works.
always fun to be reminded that oklahoma is ranked 50th in terms of education
Her freedom of speech wasn't restricted, she freely chose to not follow the assignment and failed it. This is ridiculous.
I really don’t understand how this is against her “freedom of speech”?? She wrote her paper, turned it in, got a grade of 0/25. The professor accepted the paper and gave her a grade. She got to say what she wanted. The professor isn’t rejecting or stopping her.

9:55 when I was in Undergrad at a Christian University, I was an editor for our campus literary magazine. Over and over, we had to reject religious stories with grammar issues so pervasive that we couldn’t follow the plot, poems about Jesus that didn’t understand rhythm or meter, and photographs that were clearly quick IPhone shots that were named after Bible verses. This was FREQUENT. We dealt with the backlash from rejecting these by pointing to the effective, well-done and reflective religious pieces we published, and coined the phrase: “God deserves better.”
