Hollywood has had *DECADES* worth of evidence that child actors of massively popular series need all the help, support, and protection it can provide, and yet *still* we see these children suffer in one way or another. I don't have high hopes, but I really do wish the best for those kids...

My main issue with the casting is ONE Harry immediately distrusts Snape the MOMENT he lays eyes on him so in the remake that's automatically gonna be seen as weird. TWO, Snape's backstory consists of him having grown up poor, joining a GANG of YATZEES so you're already perpetuating CERTAIN stereotypes that DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO BE THERE. THREE, when James Potter bullies Severus by HANGING HIM UNDER A TREE like....I mean. COME ON. Not to mention the way Severus is described in the books makes him unattractive and that's on purpose to sew the seeds of doubt in Harry. Because Harry due to his upbringing has a SEVERE lack of trust in adults. By making Severus black not only are they adding in stereotypes to black people via Snape's upbringing, they're going to have to redo certain scenes because otherwise yeah James is gonna be seen as nothing but racist. He was a bully sure. But racist no. Because he you know JOINED UP WITH THE ORDER to fight the wizards who WERE racist. Of all the characters to cast as black Snape has to be by far the worst. For so many narrative reasons. When it comes to the kids, I do indeed hope they are protected because the internet is going to rip them to shreds. Because people can be terrible.

Watching the reactions to the car incident switch from "we're being invaded by terrorists" and "you already know who did it" to "oh they damaged his car i would have done the same" and "why did you reveal the race of the driver so fast?" Was very exhausting but expected

Just realized watching these daily news updates is the modern equivalent of my parents watching the nightly news.

Reminder that victims often downplay their abuse. So Macron's statement doesn't really tell us much (except that someone who has a healthy relationship would probably see how it comes across, and their statement would recognise that). It certainly doesn't look like just "joking around", based on his reaction in the moment, although we don't have a lot to go on.

Ugh I know more about that Harry Potter show now than I ever wanted to. I hope those kids will be fine but any adult actors involved should be ashamed of themselves....
