BEST MAD MAX MOVIE EVER MADE! The stunts, tye action scenes, the fast paced editing, the music score, the Cinematography, the production design, the casting, and the direction make this an unforgettable experience.

The story of "Dog" ..... both movie version and real life. 1) The dog's name WAS "Dog", because it was found at a local rescue shelter. 2) Dog was at the shelter because he was considered a "bad" type of "guard dog" that his breed is known for doing with sheep. Meaning that "Dog" had a BAD habit of not really herding the sheep, but trying to CHASE CARS. 3) Dog had been at the local shelter so long that he was SCHEDULE to be put down. 4) Someone on the film crew needed to find a dog that was trainable and yet still had a little bit of "rebel" left in him. Dog was INSTANTLY picked on site at the shelter due to his breed being well known for being trained, but also "stubborn" in regard to doing their training "their own way" at times. 5) During filming, Dog had a problem working inside the car because of the noise. They put cotton in his ears to reduce the engine noise .... and IMMEDIATELY he started to perform for the cameras without fail. 6) The director thought that Dog was a little "bland" because he was "just a dog". The art-department added a bit of "color" to Dog by adding a simple scarf for him to wear. INSTANTLY the added color as well as the "playfulness" of a dog with scarf AND the feeling that it would be something Max would have done as a "joke".... well, it all played out perfectly and gave Dog a bit of "flair" that he had been missing. 7) Dog LOVED playing with the Gyro-Captain, to the point of ruining takes between them. In order for them to get the concept of Dog "attacking" Gyro, Gyro actually played "tug-of-war" with his own scarf and Dog, so that when Dog is "attacking" him on camera, we are actually seeing Dog wanting to play a game with Gyro. Even the part where Dog jumps out of the car window to "attack" Gyro was simply Dog jumping out of the car window to play around, NOT attack. But the BEST part.... Dog, who was days away from being put down at the shelter, got picked to be in this movie.... LOVED by the crew, adopted by a camera operator, went on to live SEVERAL more years on that operator's farm... NEVER "trained" or "broken" of the habit of chasing after cars. Dog ran around on this farm UNLEASHED, playing the operator's kids, and live-stock, and despite being considered a "bad" herd-dog, he actually had (reportedly) good relationships with ALL animals on the farm (never attacked or ate on) and was known to keep them within certain areas but not "clustered" like normal herd-dogs would do. So, the Dog basically went from "death row" to "movie star" to "family pet" to "dog paradise on a farm" before passing away. Not bad for a dog who never "broken" the BAD HABIT of chasing cars.

"And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him, he now lives only in my memories" Such a legendary line.

This movie became the blueprint for the post apocalyptic genre and the amazing thing is that Max is only passing through this main stories, almost like a legend type character. I love this movie and the simplicity of it! Also, nobody gonna talk about those stunt men? No tricks, no generated scenes just a few dummy bodies for death scenes and some people with the biggest balls in cinema history.

I met the actor who played The Humongous one time a few years ago just by chance, Swedish Olympic weightlifter, body builder and actor living in Australia, Kjell Nilsson is his name. He was pretty cool, very polite, seemed genuinely surprised to be recognised as the Lord of the Wasteland so many years later!

For a lot of us, the Road Warrior was our introduction to Mad Max

I remember being at school and my mate Bill Minty's brother disappeared for a while, he said his brother was off making a movie but I never gave it any thought .. It was only years later when I was actually old enough to watch the movie that I realised little Emil was the "Feral Kid" and he had been off making Mad Max II ..
