As iconic as the first? No. An entertaining Jaws sequel? Yes.
When Brody drives home after being fired by the Mayor and councilmen, he pulls up to his house and one of Quintโs yellow barrels (assumed to be one of the two Brody and Hooper used to get back to shore at the end of Jaws) is next to the front door with flowers on top of it. Nice call back!
โSharks donโt take things personally, Mr Brody.โ Jaws 4: โhold my beerโ
No sequel was ever going to live up to the original Jaws. But for my money this movie justifies its existence just for that Tina scene alone. How many other horror movies try and fail to capture the trauma that would come from what they put their teenage victims through as well as this movie does with a stammering, shell shocked Tinaโs heart wrenching cry of โsharkโ.
โI feel like the cousin needs to be a little hotter for him to disobey his dad like thatโ- a window into the teen years of Cassie.
something i love about this movie is that the kids stick together. yes they have some heated moments from the stress of things, but they don't turn on each other and only look out for themselves as individuals. Its kinda heartwarming imo
In a deleted scene we see the mayor stuck up for Brody at the council meeting and was the only one who didn't want to fire him.
My dad took me to see this in the theater when I was 8 years old, and when the shark gets cooked at the end, literally the entire theater stood on their feet and was cheering and screaming. The 70s were amazing.
That scene with marge traumatized me as a kid ๐ญ
"Justice for freaking Marge", my new favourite quote.
