Stand by me , for the ladies

Regardless of what anyone says, I personally think this movie is an underrated gem. The idea about love from your besties being so strong is amazing. The sisterhood and the strong bond the girls had is something to strive for in life. Also, the concept of not hiding a book by its cover and assuming the worst in people is a good moral.

Fun Fact: The little girl who plays Samantha's sister, Angela, is Demi Moore's real life daughter, Rumer Willis. Also, Christina Ricci and Gaby Hoffmann are best friends in real life till this day. It's also awesome to know that you're the first to react to this movie on here. No one better to do so!

I highly recommend a very young Christina Ricci along with Cher and Winona Ryder in Mermaids. You can bring Cassie along for that one as well.

This movie is a snapshot of my childhood. Even down to the haunted stories of lost children and graveyards. Not 90's, rather 70's music, events, innocence. Such a special movie!

I'm sure this film is probably categorized as a "chic flick" but to tell the truth, I'm a straight guy and I've always liked it too. The nostalgia of playing outside with friends and spending the summer together hits pretty hard. This is just a good movie for several reasons.

Rosie O'Donnell, Rita Wilson, and Gaby Hoffmann were all in Sleepless in Seattle.

Something I just realised, the actor that plays Scott (and kisses Roberta/Christina Ricci), is Devon Sawa - who kisses Christina Ricci/Kat in Casper (as human form of Casper, saying the famous line, "can I keep you?"). Both Casper and Now and Then came out in 1995.
