Bene Gesserit relationship with the Harkonnen family is interesting but I kind of wanted a series that explores the neglected houses on screen. I could watch a whole series on just the Space guild.
Desmond being Vorian actually solves the entire season. Explains why he's so pissed at the sisterhood and specifically was curious about what they feared. Explains the weird Kieran resistance plot arc and gives it a reasonable way for it to end. Explains why they had the whole flashback episode now. Actually nailed it, never considered that but I love that theory. I guess that's what years justifying Glidus's wild asoiaf theories will do to you.
Interesting you guys missed the ancestors’ voices also speaking when Tula was picking the plant and preparing the poison for Lila’s agony. Tula is definitely a reverend mother. There were also other scenes that voices were in the background for Valya. It implies the voices are ALWAYS there.
Without you Quinn I wouldn't know half of the Dune lore that I do. Thank you sir. (3 Body Problem as well)
these have become park of my Prophecy routine. Being in the UK I avoid certain online spaces until our Monday evening where I watch the new episode. Then straight after (for each EP so far) I've watched Quinns video... then the morning after I listen to these discussions while working... it's been great and has added to my enjoyment of the series, so far. THANKS <3
Desmond's mystery is so compelling that it made the flashbacks feel underwhelming by comparison. The actress playing young Tula truly carried the episode—I especially enjoyed her interactions with Valya and the Atreides. That said, I’m still struggling to grasp the overarching narrative of the show. There’s no clear direction, and Desmond’s mystery seems to be the only real driving force.
My only reaction was "THEY HAVE A THINKING MACHINE?!"
I'm pleasantly surprised by how much i like this project.
I loved flashbacks because it hammered home the sisters flaws. Tula is love/loyalty and her sisters is thirst for control and power. Tula is so dying 😭. I wonder if they will reveal that the first mother superior was a atreides it would be hilarious with how much valya hates them 🤣
Valya almost killed her own mom. Feyd-Rautha did.
