Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson react to and review Wanted (2008), the high-octane action thriller directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and based on the graphic novel by Mark Millar. Known for its stylized action and over-the-top set pieces, the film delivers a unique twist on the assassin genre with its signature “curving bullets” and adrenaline-fueled storytelling. The film follows Wesley Gibson, played by James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class, Split), a frustrated office worker who discovers his estranged father was part of a secret society of assassins known as the Fraternity. Recruited and trained by the deadly Fox, portrayed by Angelina Jolie (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Maleficent), Wesley is pushed beyond his limits to unlock his hidden abilities and embrace a life of violence. Guiding the organization is Sloan, played by Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Se7en), whose mysterious motives become increasingly suspect as Wesley learns more about the Fraternity’s true purpose. Packed with unforgettable moments—including the explosive train sequence, Wesley’s brutal training montage, and the iconic bullet-bending shootouts—Wanted blends stylized visuals with a darkly comic tone. As Wesley transforms from a powerless everyman into a lethal assassin, the film builds toward a twist-filled finale that challenges everything he’s been taught about fate, control, and free will. With its bold direction, memorable performances, and inventive action sequences, Wanted remains one of the most distinctive comic book adaptations of the late 2000s. #WantedMovie #JamesMcAvoy #AngelinaJolie #MorganFreeman #ActionMovies #MovieReaction #FilmReaction #ComicBookMovies #ActionFilm #MovieReview #React #ReactTo #Reaction Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Reaction: https://youtu.be/ohzj0fvJJsU Kick-Ass (2010) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/InFOI0-WFjI Weapons (2025) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/RCwdYaL5BDg Invincible Season 4, Episodes 1, 2, & 3 Reaction: https://youtu.be/GId91OwYSVY Twilight (2008) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/LexZ0z_Llys Follow *Tara Erickson:* https://www.youtube.com/@TaraErickson https://www.instagram.com/taraerickson/ https://twitter.com/thetaraerickson Follow *Roxy Striar* https://www.instagram.com/roxystriar/?hl=en https://twitter.com/roxystriar 0:00 Checking In! 1:45 PIA 3:17 Wanted Reaction 1:04:27 Wanted Review Intense Suspense by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ RR Clips & Shorts Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ReelRejectsClips Follow TheReelRejects On The Socials: IG: https://www.instagram.com/reelrejects/ TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@thereelrejects?lang=en TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thereelrejects FB: https://www.facebook.com/TheReelRejects/ Music Used In Ad: Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Happy Alley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Head Editor: https://www.instagram.com/prapermedia Supervising Producer: https://twitter.com/nerdchronic?lang=en Co-Editor: Greg Alba Co-Editor: John Humphrey Music In Video: Airport Lounge - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow & Listen to Us Wherever You Get Your Podcasts!! - Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3XHMwbveiznxSOGxN9XT0M - Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vc3Rhci13YXJzLXRhbGs - Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reel-rejects-tv-movie-recaps/id1616339990 - Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Apocalypse-Podcast/B08JJP58FG Ask Us A QUESTION On CAMEO: https://www.cameo.com/thereelrejects Follow GREG On INSTAGRAM & TWITTER: INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/thegregalba/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thegregalba PLAYLISTS: Trailer Reactions & Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw9ZsLdoAQFpx38s2hhyFgDe Movie Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw-comtadVs8b9JsZEWHUyr8 Sketches & Short Films: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw_zWuTRfBOUP3aYyIYRzc2y

"Does he know what anorexic means?" Man, that sarcastic joke he made flew so high over their heads, it was in outer space. lol. He is making fun of her being a bigger girl by calling her anorexic on purpose. Gaslighting, sarcasm, passive-aggressive, whatever you want to call it.

What cracks me up is, you both missed that Wesley explained, in the narration at the beginning of the movie, that his best friend was boning his girlfriend!

After watching this movie multiple times I just realized. Sloan’s name came first, everyone else’s names came up because they were carrying out executions of the manufactured targets so Sloan condemned them.

Wanted, Kingsman, and Kick-Ass all exist in the same universe. There’s a comic cross over. Where Hit-Girl saves Eggsy from the Fraternity.

You missed the sarcasm in the anorexia comment and the opening monologue where he describes his best friend having sex with his girlfriend and him not being able to care

WANTED did get a sequel in the video game WANTED: Weapons of Fate. It takes place after the events of the movie, in it he's fighting off another secret organization while trying to learn more about his mother.
