Story 2: he forces it under age child to pay 800 a month for things he is legally required to provide, and stole their savings. On top of the abuse, he is also financially sabotaging them from ever being able to live independently. OP needs to document everything go to a trusted adult to help build a case, and if possible, move in with a friend. Because he is absolutely preparing to be her dependent.

Minors do not owe their parents rent. End of story. I don’t care if your 17 yr old has a billion dollars…..they do not owe you a dime. Clothing,healthcare, food and shelter. All of this is on parents till 18.
Deaf Wife story: you KNOW if the twins were also deaf, the parents wouldn't be trying to get back in contact. They just want the grandparent points and be able to show "see? we're not that bad, they let us back in!" when people ask why they aren't in contact.
Man I can't IMAGINE being offered free college from my father and turning it down. I applied to a couple dream colleges. I got in to them all. I also applied to a more local college and got a near free ride in academic scholarships. Guess which college I chose? That's right, the one where I wouldn't have TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars of debt for the rest of my life.
As a former 18 year old...I can confirm I knew nothing. The only reason most of my student loans are paid off is because I'm disabled. They were discharged.
