Adding this here! MLK apparently really liked Star Trek because it showed a future where people worked together peacefully!
Adults have to admit it when they are wrong to kids.
2:30 "I never piloted a helicopter either but when I see one on top of a tree I know someone f'd up"
I honestly did not know that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Star Trek fan. You learn something new everyday.
First Story, NTA: Yeah, OP's wife's friend is the kind of teacher that believes that no matter what, she is always right and everyone else is wrong. She complains about the kids in her classroom and their parents but the problem is her ego can't allow her to be wrong. What is OP's wife talking about? Why should OP allow her friend to continue believing she is right when in reality she is wrong
I had an 8th grade teacher confidently tell the class that gorillas were carnivores because “nothing that big can survive without eating meat”… I mean they eat bugs sometimes, but that’d make them omnivorous. They eat mostly plant matter. Also… elephants, rhinos, and manatees all exist.
Story 1: I love how Op’s wife’s argument is literally “i know you’re right, i know our son is right and i know my friend is wrong…but come on you shouldn’t have corrected her” What an idiot… NTA Op, you said nothing but facts and the friend is a complete moron.
Wife is doing her dumb friend no favors by forcing everyone to tell her she’s right, she needs to learn to take an L and actually, y’know, learn.
First story, OPs friend is literally the worst, solid 4/5 for being the kind of teacher that makes learning impossible. The wife honestly is also kind of trash for not siding with op and her son. A teacher of all people is not allowed to be the type that will argue literal facts
Story 1: It is not grace to allow someone to continue in ignorance. It is a disservice. Especially when the person is treating other people, children, like trash in that ignorance.
