Story 1: He confirmed everything on the note immediately. Not every time a guy says he has a crazy ex is a red flag. I had an ex try to kill me. She was crazy. It's how often he mentions her. Second story: The dad is a horrible father. Abusive and neglectful.

First story : its kinda funny how the note said “nothing is ever his fault and he will blame you” and then he followed through on it 😂

Story 1: Natalia basically SAVED OP from staying Steve's bang-maid. That's all he ever wanted. He showed his true colors. Thank you, Natalia for your notes!

Story 2: He doesn't see OP as his daughter anymore because he remarried. It's something that appears to happen sometimes when a parent remarries where they just jump right into their "Real Family" and push aside their "Old Family". Honestly, their Golden Child treatment of Lily is going to screw her over in the future, because that kind of mentality should've been dropped at toddler age, seeing a teen (and later a grown adult) acting like that will just be a disaster.

In the first story, who else thinks that Steve probably had another girlfriend before Opie and that girlfriend is the one who cleaned out the bread crumbs and found that note?

Story 2: Dad is trash. He needs to accept that OP has no obligation to have a relationship with step-B or her spawn. He's chosen them over OP every step of the way. He's a spineless worm.

The spoiled step sibling story: did anyone else notice that the dad said "your aunt isnt family anymore" because the wife died? like that's so wrong. that is her aunt! her mother dying doesnt erase that relationship. He did not view her as a daughter at all. I wish OP all the best

That girl in the story was at least 15 why does she need someone to watch her when she's at home? also that step-monster is a real piece of work... moves into her fathers house and think she can just start making demands of the former residents. and daddy is a coward and a weakling.

“They’re my family now and not my aunt” that stuck out to me. Op’s maternal family isn’t her family anymore now that her dad remarried. Ya man, it doesn’t work like that.

2nd story: There is no more sure-fire way of making sure your child will hate their siblings by forcing them to spend time with each other. It's equally true, maybe even more true, for step-siblings. As someone with siblings and step-siblings I am speaking from experience. It is not true that you have to bring your siblings everywhere you go, and any parents who says that knows it's not true. They are telling you that to guilt trip you to do their job for them. If they like each other they will become friends. If not they will still accept each other's company and at least not hate each other. But if you force them to hang out, they will hate each other and you. Friendship is a lot like a fart. If you have to force it, it's probably shit.
