search warrant story: it’s absolutely important to say no to search anyone’s stuff. There’s a high chance the officers could’ve either stolen it for themselves or just sold it at an auction.
Sue the police department. They went into your unit without a warrant at first so you can even if they had one after.

That first one is a case for a lawyer and a section 1983 lawsuit.
They made a second warrant because they knew damn well they didn't belong in the house. How the hell do you confuse upstairs for downstairs? And then make up saying "It's for the whole building"
Story 1: Mr.Pork Patrol wanted to keep the iPad, that's why he said he'd keep it longer out of spite, and hoped OP would forget about it
Last story: Matt's mom is mad because OP got up and left instead of letting her keep bullying her in front of everyone. Then she cried about OP not being able to take a joke. Give me a break. Glad OP got out of this toxic relationship with Mommy Dearest playing the third part of the love triangle
Story 2: Can’t call people gold diggers when there’s no gold to dig in the first place.
First story: the first people you contact are a lawyer and the local news station. If the cops are very publicly on blast, they’re going to try and fix their f up.
