Last story is tragic ngl. I hope op never takes her back if she crawls her way back to him.
Changed wife story: She got in with the trust-fund Barbie crowd, started playing 'keeping up with the Joneses' and OP isn't a viable trophy to use in her little game of wealth one-upmanship. I loathe people that are performative wealthy.
OP #2 needs to be reminded to say NO when she comes back in a few years, divorced from at least one man who "shares her values."
Story 1: …sooo Carly sounds absolutely insane…really makes you wonder how many lies shes spun to all their mutual friends to turn them against Op. I feel bad for Matt sounds like this girl had an obsession with him
The last story: The wife sounds like an insufferable overgrown junior high mean girl who peaked at age 12. She's chasing empty virtues such as wealth, money and status. There's an old quote that goes: "Fame is an empty purse. Count it, you're broke. Seek it, go mad. Eat it, you're still hungry.” when she realizes she's been chasing something unattainable, she'll probably come crawling back to OP. I hope that he's smart enough to not let her back and just enjoy his bachelorhood with his doggie. If he remarries, I hope he ends up with a wonderful woman who completes him and makes the conscious choice to choose him everyday as he does the same by choosing her.
Changed wife: going out unannounced, not answering the phone and not coming home for the night. Yeah sure, try explaining you didn't "sleep" at some dude's place.
"I'm sure you'll find an awesome man since I know your worth, having been your husband for more than 9 years, but I know what I'm worth too." Such a classy line from OP2, and more than his wife deserved. I feel so sorry for OP, but at least he kept his self-worth, and honestly the line about how he was happy to see his dog happy in the Clio because he loves car rides... what a sweet guy. He'll be much happier with a simpler life and no materialistic harpy to ruin it.
That last story is genuinely so sad bro, once op’s ex wife realizes what she just threw away she finna crawl back
For the second story, I believe William Shakespeare and SpongeBob said it best: "All that glitters is not gold."
Story 2: If OP's wife thinks OP is holding her back, wait til she sees how much alimoney he's gonna get.
