ive said this for a long time, if you want a traditional "stay at home woman", then you need to be a traditional "work 90 hours a week at the factory" man, so you can afford to support her.

I remember reading somewhere that "Every relationship should be a 60/40 split with both people striving to be the 60" The couple from story 2 could really use that advice. Always do a little extra for the one you love

I think people often don't realize that alcohol is a drug.

"He loved those podcasts men's ideas more than he loved me" OP dropping wisdom and just moving on like she didn't just say a banger.

For the first story: I'm someone who has depression the genetic way. Due to this my brain has a whole separate funtioning state that I have to avoid at all costs because if I let it start winning I experience this horrible phenomenon called "psychotic starvation" where because I outright refuse to end myself my brain tries to do it for me. The last time I experienced an episode was 2019 and I didn't eat for 4 months. I lost 90lbs rapidly and for 4 years after that I was sickly because of it. The only thing that saved me was accidentally meeting some people towards the end who basically used my social anxiety to force me to eat with them. They saved my life though so I'll never complain. The brain is a scary thing, you may use it for your own thinking but there's a lot of thinking you don't see going on and your brain absolutely can plot against you. It's horrible what happened to OP but I think I can tell exactly how it started with the paranoid mom from personal experience

Last story: I need people to understand that addictions transfer. If you are fighting one addiction, stay away from other substances and activites that can lead to another. And ask for help.

The last story was just painful and scary. If someone is too drunk to drive then they're too drunk to consent, and OP could only get his end away when his partner was well past the drink-drive limit.

I’m a forensic worker. We are unfortunately used to seeing the gruesome things. I will say one thing, OP doesn’t want to know what they looked like. That image would come up as the first image anytime she thinks of them and no one wants to remember their loved ones like that.

Story one: Sometimes, you just cannot save someone who is determined to end themselves. It's especially tragic if this person cons another into their delusion. 😮
