Entitled Demands: Rejecting Control Over Finances, Aesthetics, Property, and Boundaries

Discover how entitled individuals attempt to dictate personal finances, physical space, and even pet ownership. Learn how to assert boundaries when facing unreasonable demands regarding inheritance, wedding invitations, and airline seating.

Short Summary

  • People demanded shared inheritance when they offered no support.
  • Entitled parties tried to control personal aesthetics and property rights (fences, pets, mobility aids).
  • Aggressive entitlement tactics—like HR complaints over party invites or intimidation on flights—were met with successful pushback.

This episode reviews multiple instances where individuals expected others to sacrifice personal assets, comfort, or core identity (e.g., using a personalized wheelchair) for the entitlement holder's ego or convenience. Apply lessons on standing firm when basic boundaries—from flight seats to home ownership—are challenged.

If someone tells you to pick between them or your pet, pick the one that didn't give you an ultimatum.

Hot tip: It you come into any kind of inheritance (or lottery), even if it’s only in the thousands of dollars, *_KEEP THAT NEWS TO YOURSELF!_* Certain people just hear the word “inheritance” and all they hear is “KA-CHING!”

Baby in the car story: she was only gone 5 minutes, but op was able to call the cops, the cops were able to get there and call her on the store PA system? Man that's a fast response time. (this is sarcasm BTW)

Story 2: you know my aunt in the wheelchair. She’s one of the nicest considerate people in my life, and if anyone ever said anything like that to her, we would have a problem. And while the dad did stand with his daughter,if your SO considered your daughter disability a distraction, wouldn’t it be a red flag?

Last story - the mom claims she was only gone 5 minutes. But she was gone long enough for a stranger to see the car, notice the child, call the cops, and have them arrive, and then for her to get to the car.

If someone is in my seat on the plane, and they don't leave after being called out, I will call for the flight attendant and ask them to call for security.
