Story 1: A perfectly good chicken was wasted. The event that wasted the chicken was when it got left in the car all afternoon. At the point it was chucked, it was no longer a perfectly good chicken.
Story 1: See if it was beef or something…MAYBE i could understand giving it a try…but i feel it should be PRETTY universally known that you do NOT mess with chicken. NTA Op, and its weird how much the wife wanted you to eat that…
For story 1, the fact that the wife was trying to salvage. The chicken is very concerning to me , especially when it's been unrefrigerated for several hours, not minutes HOURS NTA
Story 1: There’s an unspoken rule in cooking when it comes to the preparation of meats like chicken and fish. That rule is “when it doubt, throw it out”. It's better to potentally waste good chicken than to risk making yourself sick by cooking and eating bad chicken.
Last story: oh it’s definitely a social media stunt. OP already accepted the girl’s apology and it’s clear the daughter didn’t wanna be there. Maybe she’s a parent blogger, or trying to be one, want to show up how great her kid is, or another person who needs to document everything. Either way this was a mom who wanted to show off how well-behaved her child is on the Internet. And I feel bad for the teenager who probably wasn’t that choked up as mom claimed she was.

1:42 "She tells me we're going to eat the chicken". Correction: YOU are going to eat the chicken, lady.
You don't tug on Superman's cape You don't spit into the wind You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger And you don't eat room temp chicken
