One day I was half joking with my mother about something that happened when I was a teenager. She didn't think it was funny. She didn't laugh. She actually got teary-eyed which upset me because that was not what I was trying to accomplish. She apologized and it has been 30 years. In her apology though she reminded me that she's just a person. Yes she's a parent but parents make mistakes. She did the best she could and especially with a daughter who thought they knew everything. That there was many things she regretted doing as a parent and reminded me that there will be a day 30 years from now when my daughter does the same to me and it will hurt my heart the same way because she is still upset about what I did to her 30 years down the road. We all make mistakes. Everyone.

Suffering is a good reminder and connection in this life of Jesus suffering for us. Love you enemies and pray for those who persecute you. I told this to a homeless man whos dog was stolen. About a week later he said he finally broke down and prayed for the people who stole him. They returned the dog the next day...

Yes, I had to stop years ago, & look around me realizing that I am upset 😭, but no one else is upset... no one cares that I'm upset... what am I getting out of being upset!!?? Nothing, except, I'm upset. Why!!?? Exhausting. There's a good place between appropriately feeling your feelings & "suck it up buttercup." ❤

Today, at 67, all my attachments are being stripped away. Divorce, estrangement from my child, career ending, the works. Soon all I will have will be me. And today, I plan to be okay with that outcome because one day, hopefully not too soon, life too will be stripped away, so I might as well be content in the interim.

I get more pissed when im doing work and my livelihood is being messed with. Its not money its the bills that dont get paid or the food off the table but those taxes still get taken dont they?
