This kid was bright, but he was also lucky and raised in an environment and surrounded by people that catered to his growth. You can't dismiss the luck factor, nor dismiss college as useless. College classes in STEM are still essential. Many have modern labs, sophisticated instruments, and expensive equipment needed for experiments that most students can't afford to do on their own.
It shows how much do our environment, early exposure and clarity of vision matters.

Makes you realize how much opportunity exists outside the usual paths
Hello, thank you for your channel. Iβm watching you from Spain. Iβm a 52-year-old physician, and I would like to contribute my experience to help ensure that AI solutions in healthtech do not amplify the biases that already exist in medicine and that I have recognized throughout my professional career. The data used to train AI systems is not representative of the entire population, and this will lead to diagnostic delays for women, people with non-normative body types, diverse ethnic groups, and others. It is urgent to find solutions before these AI agents become embedded in the tools doctors use to diagnose or treat our patients.
