Description

“This is not a time for self-help but for collective wisdom, where we learn from each other.” "We Can Do Hard Things” podcast hosts Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Amanda Doyle sit down with Desi Lydic to discuss their new guidebook "We Can Do Hard Things: Answers to Life's 20 Questions." They share the experience of living life “off the menu” by deviating from regulated paths, cultivating an ordinary life at home to make room for extraordinary moments, sharing a breast cancer diagnosis to stop gatekeeping information on women’s bodies, and finding a lane of activism to shift our perspective in grim political times. #DailyShow #Guidebook #Life Subscribe to The Daily Show: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwWhs_6x42TyRM4Wstoq8HA/?sub_confirmation=1 Follow The Daily Show: Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailyshow Stream full episodes of The Daily Show on Paramount+: http://www.paramountplus.com/thedailyshow Follow Comedy Central: Twitter: https://twitter.com/ComedyCentral Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ComedyCentral Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedycentral About The Daily Show: Jon Stewart and The Best F**king News Team host The Daily Show, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program analyzing the biggest stories in news, politics, and culture through a sharp, satirical lens. I'm in a breast cancer survivor group. It has been the best thing I joined. Now I volunteer at a cancer hospital. Breast cancer is more common than people realize and it is happening to younger women. Get your mammogram.

At the intersection of Fascism and Menopause, is a great name for a book, or a protest sign. ❤

Desi is not only the best host, but has the best guests. I can't remember the last time she had a guest that I did not want to watch, and always does a great interview.

Love that menu metaphor. I loved that line "They're not afraid of you because you're bad. They're afraid of you because you're really alive and you're free, and they know that freedom is contagious." That last part. It's like all of the oppressive laws and regimes in the world treat freedom as a threat like a virus they seem to need to contain for fear of contagious outbreak. It's sad that they all govern out of fear rather than love. Would be a much better world if they did. IMO.

This is not a time for self-help but for collective wisdom.” 🔥 Yes, yes, yes. As someone who supports women healing from heartbreak, I see daily how powerful it is when we stop trying to ‘fix’ ourselves in isolation and start sharing stories, truths, and tools together. This conversation is a masterclass in what it means to live off the menu — to carve out a life that’s rooted in truth, not performance. From breast cancer to burnout to activism, what you’ve shared here is deeply validating. Thank you for being real in a world that often wants us polished and silent. We can do hard things — especially when we don’t do them alone. 💛 #WeCanDoHardThings #CollectiveHealing #LifeOffTheMenu #WomensWisdom

Glennon, I want to thank you for always bringing the focus back to the children and the Florence Project. We know going on these shows is not your thing, but you are using your platform for a cause so much greater. Deep love & respect you, Abby & Amanda!!
