The Fat Burning Expert: The REAL Reason You’re Not Losing Belly Fat (and How To Fix It Fast!)
Evidence-Based Nutrition: Mastering Protein, Weight Loss, and Metabolic Adaptation
Unlock peak physique goals by prioritizing your total daily protein intake and understanding metabolic adaptation instead of focusing on ineffective timing rules. Learn how to approach complex issues like PCOS and menopause using research-backed strategies, not dogma.
Short Summary
- Prioritize achieving your total daily protein requirement over micro-timing meals for muscle gain maximization.
- Metabolic adaptation, specifically reduced non-exercise activity (NEAT), explains plateaus and perceived slow metabolism during dieting.
- Fat loss is a whole-body endeavor; spot reduction is impossible, though saturated fat management impacts visceral fat accumulation.
- Keto drives rapid short-term loss but suffers from poor long-term adherence; fresh fruit intake is largely beneficial despite unwarranted scaremongering.
- Determine protein goals using specific ranges (e.g., 1.6–2.2 g/kg for body composition focus) based on training status and goals.
Nutrition expert Alan Aragon breaks down three decades of research application, moving beyond fitness dogma to focus on evidence-based strategies for body composition change, maintenance, and addressing specific health complexities like hormonal shifts. This content is crucial for anyone stuck in a plateau or overwhelmed by conflicting health advice regarding sugar, fat, and supplements.

I wish all the nutrition studies would divide men and women as we have different body. Totally different.
As a doctor, I swear consistency is the secret nobody wants to hear. No extreme diet, just steady effort for years. I suggest 'Secrets to Perfect Health' by Nathan Cole, I think it's one book everyone should read to be truly healthy!
33:40 menopause. 37:00 swan study. 38:00 hrt. 41:10 pcos. 41:45 insulin resistance. Control carbs. It was funny how Steven would pose a female-specific question and somehow the guest would end up talking about testosterone levels in men. 😆 The good thing is Steven was committed to getting answers on issues that affect women only, namely menopause, PCOS, and so on. Truly appreciate him focusing on these ❤

When I first started working out in the gym an old dude in top shape told me: the key to looking and staying healthy is to avoid anything extreme that you can not sustain for many years. Consistency is the key to developing long term habits and results without injury. Most people want quick results after neglecting themselves for many years - they change everything about their day (food, excursive), only to quit in less than a month.
I know Steven's gf has PCOS, but I am still so grateful and delighted that he continues to ask his guests questions regarding perimenopausal (me), menopausal, and PCOS-related questions for his female viewers. He understands the vacuum of medical info we have on those subjects, gives me hope that things will be different for my daughter and niece's generation
I quit alcohol 6 years ago. Best decision ever! Mental health improved, high blood pressure went away, and financial outlook improved.
Szanowni panowie. Post jest najprostszą i najstarszą ewolucyjnie metodą na długowieczność. I nie chodzi o tłuszcz z tylko o ogólne zdrowie
We need an episode with all of the experts in their field to duke it out.
All men should learn about The Menopause. It's so important!
