Judge Darrow she was great how she explained indepth why she was charging him the way she did. She didn't let him slide on ANYTHING. She also explained why she didn't believe that his "mental illness" was not a mitigating factor in her decision. Than she ready off the charges naming each and every victim by name. Giving them the recognition they deserved. She was amazing during the ENTIRE trial.

I've seen several comments on videos from the sentencing saying judge Dorow was weak, or a bad judge, or that Brooks deserves a retrial, for her crying on the bench. I could not disagree more. I think she was incredibly compassionate in how she addressed mental illness's role in the court system, and it was not unprofessional to show empathy or sadness for the victims of what happened. The system needs more judges and lawyers like her, who are not only fair and impartial, but bring a human element and have actual compassion for the victims. We'd all be better for it.

My child survived but another child died. I also have a adult child with a mental disorder. I saw myself in so many. My takeaway was that I had not done anything to support or help this community. I am going to take action.

The fact that she fired the experts who warned about it, shows she knew exactly what she was doing. Not a zealot, an imposter with complete disregard of the very real hurt she did to people. This woman wanted to help "lesser" people, not out of the goodness of her heart, but because she wanted to be worshipped and admired for it.
