What we hadn’t seen was anyone being held criminally responsible. Judge Durkin in Illinois wrote a scathing opinion in the contempt proceeding stating that some of Tom Girardi’s and Girardi Keese's behavior was unquestionably criminal. The US attorney's office agrees, and Tom Girardi is now facing 18 counts alleging the theft of over 18 million dollars from clients.
