Just to be clear, it’s not illegal for google to show maps in search. They just need to offer alternatives. They will not do that, so google decided to kot show maps anymore to be compliant with the law

Google can put maps in their search results, but in EU they need to provide alternative solutions as well. But they don't do it, preferring to lie that they just can't do that at all.
