It's far too easy for people and politicians alike to defer to greater and greater levels of "toughness," seeing such programs as "perks" instead of the meaningful rehabilitation - and futures for the incarcerated people's families - they really are. For anyone in Illinois, get involved with Restore Justice! For everyone else in the US, this is a worthy cause to spend some of your time and money supporting, and I encourage you to find similar groups in your State <3
