The Good Place really has it right when they said it's impossible to make a moral decision in modern times without it having horrible effects for someone else.
40:26 this story is sending me into orbit😭 i can feel poor grandma's spirit wincing at her precious pieces being broken by her shitty grandfailson. idc that its 'his family' op needs to protect the pieces, if i was in their position id have brought a locked glass case for them after the first break.
19:35 Morgan, it was the workers enduring horrific working conditions in the 1800s and fighting (sometimes risking their lives) tooth and nail, protesting, striking to get a 40 hour work week. The labor movement deserves the credit for the workweek, not the capitalist Henry Ford.
I'm so mad at the tea set guy. I audibly gasped when I heard about the tea pot!
55:05 Justin isn't wrong. The story he was trying to remember was on Patreon. The husband didn't want his wife to drive with the kids, they added cameras to her car, she drove unto a canal, lost driving privileges because of her careless driving, ended up getting divorced and a bunch of other stuff. Eventually she drove into traffic and a semitruck killed her. It was a very sad story 😢.
15:30 it’s not showering at night that is bad for your hair, it’s sleeping on wet hair. Our hair is more fragile when wet due to the temporary breaking of bonds, so it’s more prone to damage from things like brushing it or moving around in our sleep.
As someone with OCD, it is my opinion that asking someone to even do the 5min or less rinse thing is something I'd at least need to be able to promise my partner wouldn't be forever. OCD can become very onerous for the other partner if, like op suggested, the one with OCD lets it control how other people live too.
I'm bewildered by this cheese conversation. Parmesan most definitely has a distinct flavor. Cheese is so flavorful 😭
Whoever said laundry is the easiest does not have a particular spouse and multiple children 😅 it takes me forever!!
On the tea set one-I break dishes a lot, but I also have a neurological disease. I don’t ever use my grandmother’s teapot, it’s on my bookshelf.
