Story 1: Everyone is dismissing the part where OP was a GUEST for the first time at these people´s house and she was the one serving the plates for the men of the family????? Hello????? These people are cult-y crazy
Growing up is realising that the magic of the Holiday was just your mom😢.
Story 3: keep the hotel, cancel the marriage
That 1st story... she visited a cult!
The fiancé that thinks the engagement is the gift grows into the husband that buys his wife a vacuum as a present. A present to the family/household is much different than a present to a significant other, regardless of gender.
Story 3 GET A DIVORCE. He speaks to her like she's trash. He disrespects her. And he isn’t considerate of her or his child. PLEASE DON'T TRY AND TALK TO HIM AGAIN....... LEAVE
Story 7, if you can spend $3000 on an engagement ring, surely you can just spend $3050 and get less than $50 of small but thoughtful gifts as well!
Story 7: My fiance and I just got engaged at the end of November. It was a huge surprise to me, and I (obviously, without knowing this was going to happen) had already sent him a list of what I wanted for Christmas, and he had sent me what he wanted. Even though we got engaged a few weeks before Christmas, he still made it a point to get me gifts for Christmas. I personally would have been upset and disheartened if he didn’t get me anything for Christmas and said “well, I spent so much on your ring, so that’s your present”. It’s not the price that matters, it’s the tradition of Christmas and being thought about by the person you love.
Story 7: I know someone who was proposed to on Christmas. She was okay with it. But he later had an affair while they were married and they're now divorced. She has bittersweet memories of Christmas morning now. I would not want to be proposed to on a holiday.
Story 7: My parents got married on my mom’s birthday. Now, each year, her birthday is a reminder of her divorce. DON’T propose/get married on already special day!
