That second story, my heart goes out to the semi driver. They will have to live with that for the rest of their lives, even though they aren’t at fault
I feel like “Too old to be acting like this” would make a great episode theme
On story 2: He’s not treating her like an idiot - she’s ACTING like an idiot. They are not the same thing.
If you ever question which one we want to hear, we want both and you made the right choice.
oh my god. that second story was brutal. it’s so crazy how many chances she got to do it over and she still couldn’t save herself :( op was def right for getting his kids out of there or they probably would’ve been right with her.
The second story is pissing me off. I got into a car accident with my mum because the other driver didn't pay attention and my mum broke her back. I honestly don't care about the woman in the story, I'm just so upset for everyone else. She was a danger to the people on the road and her own family, yet she kept driving!? So selfish and self-centred.
The Tolkien girl is sooooo hard on herself!!! Even with the yellow pages, I would be thrilled with how thoughtful of a gift that was. Poor thing doesn’t need to beat herself up so much
Seeing this story make it off Reddit and onto other platforms is crazy. Thank you @TwoHotTakes for covering it. I hope anyone that comes across it would and will do the same if given the opportunity in the future to do something extra for someone else. "The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater" - J.R.R.T Tolkien (The Fellowship of the Ring)
As a massive Tolkien fangirl, that last story was everything. I love his community and everyone involved in it. Those books are everything and I’m so so happy we are proudly represented on THT ❤
As a marine scientist that specifically works in manatee necropsies- I never thought I would have the opportunity to relate to a story so I simply have to comment haha. For anyone curious- we don't use caskets but manatees get relocated to an area where they can... return to nature.
