I think when we're dating people, if we find ourselves hating/judgemental of/disgusted by someone's family/family dynamics, maybe we just don't date them. You're not going to be able to change the dynamics a family has built for over 20 years for your own comfort. And unless they're not contact, you're never going to be able to change the fact that your partners family is going to be a part of your life

I had a TON of documentation that my roommate was losing his mind and felt he owned me. he was sending very scary, errratic texts at all hours and lived with me. I just needed the cops to write a report that I came in because I was scared for my safety so that I could get out of my lease. the cops told me no, laughed and said "if we did this for you we would have to do it for everyone" which felt sick and wrong. they told me once he hurts me they would offer to help. but by that time it could have been too late.

Stalker story : the friend died in his sleep? I’d be afraid of foul play and the stalker retaliating against this friend and caused something to happen . So that the “threat” was out of the way for the stalker to make his way back in through OP’s grief. He was willing to try and kidnap OP while vulnerable and alone what else is stalker capable of ?

Story 2: in what world is it disrespectful to pee in someone’s house that you were invited into? Peeing outside someone’s house is whack behavior for someone who’s not a child.

story 3: there's a docuseries on Hulu I think called stalking Amanda about a woman who was stalked for over a decade by a BRIEF ex and after over ten years he kidnapped her and when the police went through his stuff he had trackers on her car, her FRIENDS AND FAMILY'S CARS, and he would be alerted when they left their house. His gps location was almost always 5 seconds behind Amanda when she would be driving. It's always that serious!
