As a pixel owner I'd say that this could have been a really cool product, had the price been different. Somewhere around 200$ would make way more sense, but as it stands it is overpriced for what it offers. Hopeful for the future of pixel watches though.
It feels like you've just reviewed the 1st gen Moto 360 watch. Great potential but so much work to be done, and that was back in 2014!
The paywall for sleep tracking is a deal breaker for me. There are literally $50 smartwatches like the Mi Band that does this for free.
When they announced this watch my immediate reaction was: oh, that's very interesting, I can't wait for the second gen!
‘For now it’s fine for their first foray into fore-arm fitness and fashion but functionally it’s far from finished.’ -MKBHD, 2022
Really hoping that Google fixes these things on the 2nd gen. These kinds of videos and feedbacks from users will greatly help them pinpoint these problems
I have a feeling they'll release a "pro" version next year which will be bigger, more battery etc. And of course a lot of the issues can be fixed with software
4:24 I think this is the first time that I've noticed the aperture scale on his arm. (1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16)
Paying $400 for a watch and then having to pay for not one but TWO subscription services is a deal breaker for me. Come on Google.. I'm trying so hard to be a fan but I'm getting closer to switching to Apple every year.
"Black disc floating on your wrist" That's a perfect description.
