The Hoop Brewer Review: Almost A Slam Dunk

I’ve had the Hoop for a few months and I’m delighted that my opinion on it has finally dropped

The idea for wanting his elderly mother to still be able to manually make coffee, probably like she always did, instead of just buying her an automated coffee machine, is lovely

I watched this while making my AeroPress coffee and had to stop and pause. Looking at my 75yr old father in law reading the newspaper. Yes James, people still read the newspaper. 👍🏽

Carpal Tunnel problems are a nightmare, man, and some mornings, standing in place and gently swirling water out of a hot kettle for extended periods is literally painful for me, so this might go on a christmas list. The idea of making a pour-over that has the same ease as just pouring once like an infusion brew is very charming and I'm glad that's something that exists and that you'd talk about that accessibility category as something that needs more attention. Coffee should be optionally easy and convenient just for people who want that and are tired and have other things going on in their lives, but some people are or are getting less physically able to do it at all.

I've had one of these for a little while. It's compatible with an Aeropress filter as well -- so it's nice to have one type of filters for both the Hoop and Aeropress.

My favorite brewer. perfect in a morning as a "fire and forget" brewer when I'm wanting to make my morning coffee before I've had my morning coffee

I love the promotion of simpler devices like this and not over engineered stuff that often comes up in coffee.

Thank you for highlighting this interesting device. As a 71 year old coffee lover I find this may be very useful as I get older.
