The fact that he taunted the victim’s family is sickening.

Sex workers and homeless people are the most marginalized groups of the population, that's why a lot of serial killers go after these two types of the population. And the underlined deeper sadness is that some sex workers and homeless people have mental illnesses so they are even furthermore marginalized and ignored if they do try to blow the whistle!

I think often times cases where it involves escorts authorities don’t really take it seriously and they see them as runaways. The fact that the killer tormented them and got off by just calling their families as a mockery is disgusting. He found satisfaction in killing these victims. The killer wanted attention and the fact that he kept searching himself up to see update of the case just to boost his ego baffles me. He is sick!

Update, January 2024: Rex has been charged with murdering the fourth woman on Gilgo Beach

He literally wasn’t that hard to find. If authorities didn’t profile these victims as “runaways,” then maybe they could have prevented all a lot of these cases. Thank you Stephanie Soo for covering this. I feel like a lot of people need to know this story.

Update: Rex Heurrman has been charged with 7 murders now, with more hairs linking him to each victim. Authorities have also revealed in court that Rex had a planning document for his murders with a checklist along with photos of him practicing with rope. The trials date is still being set (around February) and Rex's defending lawyers are calling for a change of jury because the "jury pool has been poisoned" against him. Rex continues to plead not guilty
