Youtube shows context banner under the video saying dead internet theory is a conspiracy theory.
If only I had a dollar for every thumbnail I have been reading on YouTube that says "It's Over".
I spent 18 years perfecting my craft, then AI did it better in 18 seconds. Selwyn Raithe's book book actually showed me how to pivot using my experience as leverage instead of liability. Now I manage the AI that was supposed to replace me but I'm still scared.
The internet died a while ago. It’s a haunted house of BS now. I joined the internet in 1993 and it was markedly better back then. For one, only people smart enough to figure it out could get on. “Must be this smart to ride” was actually a very good thing.
There will always be people who will refuse to watch any content produced by AI until they can't tell what is or isn't AI - for some that time is close or even now!
They aren’t just training on ‘the internet’. They have multiple layers of quality control curation before anything gets into the training data. When they have an interactive user input loop to training (which I suspect coding models already have), then max compute will be spent on assessing YOUR quality. There is no value to AI of human slop or AI slop. This is already baked in.
For the umpteenth week in a row, It is all over! Everything is about to change! Nothing will be the same again! A new era! Shock and/or Awe! New Model Changes Life as we Know It! ... etc.
I am not a fan of how anyone who is a streamer or youtuber that has opinionated content through reactions etc is labelled to have a "controversial persona" like everyone by definition is controversial, they just don't live stream their thoughts. I think the wording and labelling is a way to discredit people. Humans are complex beings with a lot of opinions that some of those opinions are inherently controversial. This is like the default state of an actual person.

The problem with AI right now is that every company is pushing it like there's no tomorrow. I don’t hate AI itself — it has its place as a useful tool. But not every problem needs an AI solution, and it's frustrating to see it being treated like a magic fix for everything.
