Senior developers are more open to agent generated code because they are already used to seeing code generated by junior devs for a long time.

One of the differences between me and Linus is that he likes to review code.

I don't think these people are late. I think they were skilled enough and AI was bad enough that it wasn't worth it for *them* to use it. I think they've been using it on small tasks and playing with it privately and watching as it improved, and Claude 4.5 was good enough that the scales tipped and now they're willing to talk about using it in public because they recognize that it's good enough that *everyone* will be using it.

linus is a junior in python, he admitted as much in the repo as to why he vibe coded that part, the rest was hand written in c

nobody is late. i think some devs are just more considerate and conscientious at what they do.

Curious on their metrics. I "accept" generated code because the tooling is so poor that it is easier to just hit accept and then read the diff so I can clean it up myself

the more complex of a project an ai is able to create, the more breakpoints form, and when it breaks, the more senior of an software engineer you need. hence i am not surprised

Like a tetrahedron, there are four facets to a really good senior dev: they've learned their skills, apply their skills, are inspired by their skills, and pass on their skills. Beyond that is an ability to adapt in an ever-changing, constantly evolving engineering field.
