I have a NotebookLM called Home. I upload user manuals and YouTube videos and other sources for anything around the house that I might need help with. The sprinkler controller, new appliances, electronic gear, phone, etc. So incredibly helpful. I also have a notebook for or cars. Slap the user manuals in there….bam! Fun tool to use.
NotebookLM is hands down my top tool for prompt engineering. Every time I start a serious prompt, I open a fresh notebook, pull in sources like leaked system prompts and axioms, advanced promoting so it knows the best ways and search for sorces on whatever I need a prompt on. Then it has all the info needed and I go to chat and tell it to create a system prompt using sources on whatever . It’s basically my prompt lab.
I just made a job search notebookLM. I uploaded lots of YouTube videos on resumes and interviewing. Then I put my master resume as well as job descriptions in there. I had it make a podcast debate on whether or not I’m qualified for certain jobs. Once I heard the two people debating I realize there were things that were not clear from my bullets because they weren’t assimilating all the information properly. So then it got me to go improve my bullets even more!
This video has now become a Notebook LM topic for me so I can go back and refer to this from time-to-time.
The tip to put your manuals all in one place is genius.
Talking with your own writing as you create is a wonderful way to work faster and more efficiently -- but also a way to lose ourselves in our own spaces, realms, and stories. Wonderful.
It's awesome for study, I put in all the notes and texts and get it to quiz me and use the flashcards feature.. nailed a recent pretty hard exam with it.
Agreed, NotebookLM is MASSIVELY underrated! 🙌
This is literally the best vid on NotebookLM i've watched.
