Henry Cavill’s arm reload is iconic
15:45 not only did Tom jump out of the plane himself, but a camera operator jumped out in front of him. Backwards. Whole jump was real, storm was CGI.
48:58 Tom Cruise actually broke his ankle right there
Prior to this movie, the Mission Impossible franchise was known for having a different director for each installment, as Tom Cruise believed each film should have its own distinct style to make it unique. So bringing Christopher McQuarrie back after he succeeded with Rogue Nation was a bold move, it broke the tradition Cruise had established. Yet, it’s almost miraculous how McQuarrie outdid himself, giving Fallout a tone and style so different that you’d barely notice both films came from the same director
Henry Cavill’s performance might be the best villain performance in the franchise since Philip Seymour Hoffman. What makes it even more impressive is how effortlessly he matches Tom Cruise’s energy and on-screen presence, something few actors have pulled off. It’s especially surprising considering Cavill is 21 years younger than Cruise, believe it or not
You guys definitely need to watch the behind the scenes footage. Tom Cruise is unbelievable.
having henry cavil for a physically imposing villian while also having a psychological villian to have a collision of stakes makes this the best one that I think they couldn’t top, its just perfect, and its sad they couldn’t top Cavil
THAT WAS REAL!! Yes and he really shattered the shit out of his ankle on that building jump. The shot of him limping out of frame is him completing the shot with a shattered ankle.
