Turbo 4s in midsize vehicles are turning out to be an absolute disaster.
Anyone who thinks making repairs almost impossible by these manufacturers was by chance is delusional. Keep your old reliable Japanese cars for as long as you can don't fall for this modern tech pos

Crankcase ventilation is a simple thing in theory. And in cars from a generation or two ago, easily corrected by replacing a consumable PCV Valve for about $5. Now, any simple valve is permanently molded into the plastic tubes which’s are routed in an insane manner. I have to figure that the automotive engineers of today are young and have never studied engineering of past generations. Oil bathed rubber belts, internal water pumps, no dipsticks, etc. It’s lunacy.
Even Mercedes and BMW know how crappy their reliability is. Their warranty runs out right when they know their crap starts breaking. You can tell by how they price their extended warranty that they sell.
Unfortunately Merc went downhill years ago, they just a plastic addicted brand now with no substance. US Alabama made ones are rated 27th out of 32 car manufacturers for reliability, not a great stat
I like how detailed they are about what needs to happen before performing the work. I wish all dealers were like that
When dealership sales are slow, the service dept must keep the ship afloat. Ive caught these conversations while waiting on my own vehicles because Ive become such a familiar face. Im beginning to think that it may not be entirely the cars fault. With many garages out of public view, how do we know they're not doing something to these cars to keep them coming in? I swear every time Id take my Audi in for one thing, Im back for another.
