Lauren, my mom used to say if you feel like you hate everyone and everything, eat something. If you feel like everyone and everything hates you, get some sleep. Maybe not applicable to your current mood, but food for thought.
Morgan, off topic, I’m Brazilian, I speak english but my mother doesn’t, everytime I’m watching you she says: I don’t understand anything but her voice is so nice, so soothing, it calms me down
Instead of "work wife" or "work husband" I really like the term "emotional support co-worker" lol. I think it encapsulates the relationship of having a co-worker you do everything with. It keeps the relationship professional and detached from real life and is actually funny (to me anyway lol).
NTA. Wife chose to do 5 shots. "The afterparty" is essentially a wedding reception-type of celebration. Why should a member of the married couple have to give up celebrating the wedding/marriage? I just hope he was at least able to watch her and didn't leave her alone-alone.
For the first story, what really gets me going is that mil is implying that it's the mother's duty to sacrifice everything for the baby while the dad can just go off and go to work
Story 1: I HATE it when mums of young children are told “well this is what you signed up for” and “being a mum is hard” - but this is not how humans are supposed to be rearing children. Alone, without a community, without the wisdom of elders, without a sisterhood and with financial pressure and burdens. We are victims of a society that is not built with women being considered, especially mums of young children, and THAT’S WHY IT’S SO HARD
Mother in law said, welcome to motherhood when she had a nanny......
I love the healthy conclusion of the first story. Normally you hear MIL stories where she doubles down and causes OP + spouse to go no contact. But this one you can tell the MIL really does care and it has a calm resolution
People being okay with LGBT until it is a family member is VERY very common unfortunately.
Story 3 is actually vile. To seduce your own twin’s fiancé? I’d be going scorched earth.
