Description

In this video, Dr. Mobeen Syed breaks down a landmark study published in Nature Medicine that found short bursts of vigorous physical activity—called VILPA (Vigorous Intermittent Lifestyle Physical Activity)—can lower your risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 49% and reduce all-cause mortality by nearly 40%. 🏃‍♂️ No gym. No fitness plan. Just everyday actions like brisk walking, stair climbing, or carrying groceries—done at a vigorous pace. 📌 How VILPA compares with traditional workouts 📌 How much daily activity is enough 📌 How even non-exercisers gained powerful protection This is one of the most accessible and empowering studies in preventive health—and it might change how you think about movement forever. 🧠 Backed by peer-reviewed research: Stamatakis E, et al. Accelerometer-measured physical activity and mortality: quantifying the intensity of bouts using VILPA. Around 30 years ago I was sent to St Mary's London hospital to go through some tests due to my palpitations including an echocardiogram. Luckily there was nothing wrong with my heart.. This doctor which I didn't know was the top surgeon got out some step ladder asked me to go up and down them 25 times tested my pulse and afterwards he said do you have some steps at home if so do what you've done here 25 times every day forget about a gym you don't need to go to a gym. Seems like it was great advice 😊

💯 agree with the improvements of the CDC members as they proved with their job performance, unworthy of holding their position. As shown with the implimented actions of the past 4 years.😮😊 It's wonderful.....

I think its good to remove conflicts of interest. Every other profession requires it and its the only way to get objective reviews of the data.

My son did weight training for five years, 20 lenghts in the swimming pool every day, did sport since he was six years old, and then was diagnosed with acute lymphoma leukaemia as well as therapy related acute myeloid leukaemia. Since his birth he did not have unhealthy sugar. He followed a healthy lifestyle and passed away at the age of 24.
