GM never learned from their past mistakes.

I think a lot of people just want a simple and reliable vehicle that is affordable. Way too much gimmicky and useless electronics these days. I would argue the electronics are almost unsafe because they're so distractive.

Too expensive, interest too high, too many recalls, too much plastic, too many greedy and crooked dealers..

That's another thing that I'm sick and tired of hearing about, the stealerships won't back their warranty, they try to find a loophole to keep from repairing their mistakes and lack of quality control

Manufacturers should start building cars that people actually want, at a price point people can afford. You cant start building $70k pickup trucks and expect people to buy them. Also, nobody wants an electric work truck or SUV - we already have Tesla for that (which has the charging infrastructure and competitive pricing). Also, a lot of people, considering the financial situation - want small, economical, cheap cars that are reliable - something that is nearly impossible to get nowadays.

Most of my friends, including myself, won't go above $40K for a new vehicle. The car companies are screwing themselves with these insane prices. Plus turbo's are terrible for reliability. They are so greedy. Screw them.

I think almost no one can afford to buy a brand new car these days. If you can't afford a 5-year finance with less than 9% interest rate in 2024 and at the very least, an 11-20% down payment without taking out another loan for it, you have no business even looking at the car. My advice: lower your damn standards and get a used car. I got a 15-year-old rav4 and I'm a pharmacist.
