I'm an independent who worked for the US government for decades. Most of those times I was considered essential and worked without pay during shutdowns. I was OK with it, if it was worth the sacrifice. The thing is everyone is not me and is not making the same sacrifice or feeling the same level of pain. So while i believe that this was always the likely outcome of the shutdown, I still empathize and understand why others feel differently. Please everyone in the pro democracy movement, keep fighting despite your disappoint in this moment. The fight is our sacrifice for future generations.

MAGA Fascists count on everyone else to have a stopping point. MAGA DOES NOT!

Around minute 36, there's a co-positioning of maga's "I want libs to suffer" and a democrat position that is NOT about "GOP should suffer" and more precisely: criminals belong in prison, not the White House (which is true across the political board and has a very reasonable/practical and patriotic basis). These two positions are NOT the same. I do not see "Liberals" or Dems out there just protesting to take the basic human rights away from people who are "Republican." Nobody "on the left" is saying "churches should not exist!" We are saying: "The US Government should not use public funds to promote a single church and destroy another house of worship." Whenever there's a comparison of "right" vs "left" policies/actions/positions THERE IS NO CREDIBLE COMPARISON. What would make a Maga happy? --pain felt by "others." What would make a liberal happy? -- accessible healthcare for ALL. This list of contrast goes on ad infinitum).

Really fun to hear Chris Hayes unconstrained by the parameters of his show.

BOTH parties (but esp Democrats) would really go for it and ADMIT that the best way for the most Americans to get on board and care about their government is to give them back TRUE representation by getting mega billionaires, too-big-to-fail coorporations, and special interests (dark money) OUT of our election campaigns and OUT of our government. That money is the #1 reason that individuals and families feel (and rightly so) unrepresented and betrayed.

Democrats have to govern even when Republicans are in power! Democrats it's not about policy anymore it's about power, trump is destroying America and it's institutions!
